Deborah Fuelberth Bio

Deborah Fuelberth was born in Nebraska but
grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she was exposed to
many varieties of art.
Loving art from a very young age, Deborah
eventually worked as an apprentice with commercial artists.
After attending the University of New Mexico, she decided to
seek formal art training. She was accepted to the Art Center
College of Design in Pasadena, California. While attending
the Art Center, she was fortunate to receive private
training from Burne Hogarth. “I already had four years of
life drawing when we worked on drawing the subjects of
animals, particularly horses. Burne taught me how to draw
animals from the inside out as well as how to make animals
move. I’ll never forget the valuable training that I
received from him.”
Drawing is truly the foundation to
painting.
Deborah graduated with a BFA in
Illustration, and later illustrated for companies that did
work for Disney, Warner Brothers, the Jet Propulsion
Laboratory/NASA and numerous advertising agencies. After
professionally illustrating for 11 years she chose to embark
on a career in Fine Art. She has studied under Daniel
Gerhartz, Jeffery R. Watts, Carolyn Anderson and Desmond
O’Hagan. Deborah is a member of Oil Painters of America and won the
Best of Show / Gold Medal Winner at the Oil Painters of
America Western Regional Exhibition, 2009. She is
currently accepting commissions while she displays and sells
her work through her website and studio in Castle Rock,
Colorado.
Deborah loved horses from a very young
age. Besides riding horses as a young girl, they were the
focus of much of her early art work. As an avid equestrian,
she is afforded a personal insight into her subjects,
especially horses and how they interact with people. Whether
the topics are cowboys, cowgirls, horses, animals or
landscapes, Colorado provides magnificent settings for her
artwork.
Deborah exhibits great quality in her
works and excels in delighting her viewers with her skills
and insights. Her award winning works appear in many private
and corporate collections. |
